What is an Interactive Whiteboard?
The Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) is a multimedia resource composed by a whiteboard connected to a computer which is connected to a projector. It allows the user to operate the computer through the interaction with the projected image. The IWB can be used by one or more simultaneous users.

What do I need to have to use an Interactive Whiteboard?
To use an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) it is necessary to have a computer and a projector. The projector connects to the computer through a VGA/HDMI cable which then projects the image from the computer to the board. The IWB is connected to the computer by the USB cable. This connection supplies power to the IWB and provides the information transfer between it and the computer. In this way we are able to effectively interact with the whiteboard.

How does the Interactive Board work?
The Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) works using Infrared Technology. This technology consists of LED emitters and receivers located within the frame of the board which create an infrared matrix. When an object enters the frame parameters, the infrared beams become blocked and the board is able to effectively able to analyze the point of contact.

What can I do with the Interactive Whiteboard?
The use of the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) allows the user to experience a more creative, informed, dynamic and interactive environment. The user can do everything that he does on the computer on the IWB.

  • Interact with internet pages, images, videos, software.
  • Make notes over an image or document and save, print, export and share in different formats with our dynamic annotation software.
  • Create effective content ideal for teaching and presentations.
  • Use it as premium dry erase whiteboard

How long should the mounting and setup take?
The installation time depends directly on the installer’s ability, but on average one hour is all that’s needed to ensure proper mounting and setup the complete system..

Do I have to calibrate each time I use the interactive whiteboard?
No. The calibration is required the first time you use the whiteboard and when the projector resolution or its position is changed.

Short Throw and Ultra Short Throw Projector? Which one is the best for my IWB?
Both the Short Throw and Ultra Short Throw projectors work with our IWB, however we recommend using Ultra Short Throw projectors, as the distance between the projector lens and the board is shorter (the projector stays closer to the wall). This reduces shadows when using the IWB, which provides a better experience to the user (for both interactive use and for the audience’s view).

I already have a projector; can I use it with the Interactive Whiteboard?
Yes, any projector will work with the board. However, it is recommended that a ultra short throw projector be used with the board to maximize performance. While any projector will work, the further away the projector is from the board, the more likely a shadowing effect will take place as the presenter stands in front of the board.

Does it require special pens, normal whiteboard pens or just fingers?
No, it doesn’t require any special hardware to work, you can use only your fingers! The great thing about Infrared Technology is that it doesn’t limit you in terms of how you interact with the board. Some boards only allow you to interact with them through the use of a pen or stylus. So if you break or lose the pen, you lose all interactivity with the board and you will be stuck with the costly task or sourcing a replacement.

Can I write on the board with a normal marker?
Yes you can! It is possible to write on ours Interactive Whiteboard with a normal marker. To ensure that all marks come off with ease, it is recommended that dry eraser markers are used and the proper whiteboard maintenance is followed.

Does the interactive board come with any software?
The Interactive whiteboard come with annotation software: Easy2Note or Hubing Notes. You can download it for free in our website.

What kind of software can i use with interactive whiteboards?
The interactive whiteboards support any kind of software that is on your computer.
